With a registered capital of RMB 500,000, the company achieved an output value of RMB 2.8 million in its first production year of 1995, demonstrating vigorous vitality to the industry.
However, at the critical initial development stage of both Ningguo’s economy and the company, the catastrophic flood in 1996 and the subsequent Asian Financial Crisis dealt a heavy blow to the local economy, leaving enterprises in severe operational difficulties. Faced with this pivotal challenge, the company’s general manager made decisive strategic judgments relying on rich management experience and acute market insight, prioritizing technological innovation and quality management system optimization. In 1997, Yuanguang took the lead in introducing world-class imported equipment including fully automatic winding machines from Switzerland in China. In the same year, the company passed the ISO9002 quality system certification and was recognized as a high-tech enterprise. By skillfully defusing market risks, Yuanguang achieved a steady development transition amid the financial crisis, laying a solid foundation for its rapid growth in the future.
Benefiting from the rapid economic recovery of Ningguo in 1999, the company’s output value exceeded RMB 10 million, doubling the figure of 1998 and creating a miracle of leapfrog development.
By increasing investment in science and technology and advancing technological innovation, the company has cultivated strong sustainable development potential. In 2000, Yuanguang invested RMB 25 million in a special capacitor production expansion project. The company introduced complete sets of advanced automatic capacitor production lines from Germany, Switzerland, South Korea and other countries, covering the entire production process from polypropylene film vacuum coating of core raw materials to finished products, with an annual additional production capacity of 4 million sets of special capacitors. This move greatly upgraded the company’s technical level and production capacity.
Meanwhile, the company hired senior foreign capacitor experts and military-grade senior capacitor engineers to provide technical guidance and carry out professional technical training, significantly enhancing its R&D strength and accelerating the iteration of new products. A series of core products were successfully launched, including CBB series AC motor capacitors, special capacitors for metal halide lamps, power factor compensation capacitors for lighting fixtures, low-voltage shunt power capacitors and metallized polypropylene films.
Following the independent development of domestically leading 100℃ high-temperature capacitors in 2002, the company successfully developed and obtained provincial scientific and technological achievement certification for 110℃ high-temperature capacitors in 2004, again taking a leading position in the domestic industry. All products have passed multiple domestic and international safety and quality certifications such as CQC, UL, VDE and CSA. Entrusted by the National Lighting Electrical Appliance Standardization Committee, Yuanguang has drafted two national standards:General Requirements and Technical Specifications for Capacitors Used in Tubular Fluorescent Lamps and Other Discharge Lamp Circuits and Performance Requirements for Capacitors Used in Tubular Fluorescent Lamps and Other Discharge Lamp Circuits.
With high-end technical products, stable quality and precise market positioning, Yuanguang has secured extensive market share. By supporting production for well-known domestic and foreign enterprises, the company has established long-term cooperative partnerships with Midea, Galanz, General Electric, Fasco, Philips, Samsung, Panasonic and other industry leaders. It has set up logistics centers in the United States and South Korea, and offices in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Ningbo. The JK-brand lighting capacitors have been designated exclusive products for multiple national key lighting projects, including the lighting renovation of Tiananmen Rostrum for the 50th National Day Anniversary, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Chinese Revolution Museum, Kunming World Expo Park, Shanghai Nanpu Bridge and Yangpu Bridge. In 2003, the company’s output value exceeded RMB 50 million, marking another major leap in its development history.
The rapid development of Yuanguang attracted great attention from Singapore Yuanguang Yaming International Holdings Pte Ltd. In 2003, the Singapore-based holding company injected capital and increased shareholding, formally establishing Anhui Yuanguang Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. as its directly-held subsidiary. The company has formed a strategic development pattern featuring scaled production, automated processes, standardized operation and modernized management. With greater independent development autonomy, Yuanguang embraced new development opportunities and achieved an output value of RMB 110 million in 2004, growing into a modern high-tech enterprise with an annual output value exceeding RMB 100 million.
Forged over a decade, the company achieved three remarkable leaps in annual output value within just 10 years: from RMB 2.8 million to RMB 10 million, then to RMB 50 million and finally RMB 110 million, securing its prominent position in the domestic capacitor industry and its status as a core pillar of Ningguo’s industrial economy.
Facing the fiercely competitive domestic and global markets, the company’s far-sighted general manager set higher development goals. The company accelerated the implementation of a capacitor production line technical upgrading project with an annual output value target of RMB 300 million, striving to expand industrial scale, enhance comprehensive strength, rank among the top three domestic capacitor enterprises, and make greater contributions to local economic development.
